Each student's academic progress will be monitored and evaluated by the teacher. This achievement will be recorded on Ed-line and midterm reports and quarterly report cards. The conduct, effort and study habits of the student will also be evaluated and reflected on these reports. Students are expected to monitor their own academic progress by using the Record of Achievement found in this agenda.
Grading Scale
Student grades are based on the following areas: Daily Work, Class Participation, Test Scores, Homework, Long-Term Assignments, Reports and Projects.
- A - Superior (100 - 93%)
- [A+ = 98-100; A = 95-97; A- = 93-94]
- B - Above Average (92 - 85%)
- [B+ = 90-92; B = 87-89; B- = 85-86]
- C - Average (84 - 77%)
- [C+ = 82-84; C = 79-81; C- = 77-78]
- D - Below Average (76 - 70%)
- [D+ = 75-76; D = 72-74; D- = 70-71]
- F - Failing (69 - 0%)
O,S,N,U will be used for effort and conduct and may also be used for: Music, Art, Physical Education, and Computer in certain grade levels. The conversion standard for O,S,N,U is:
- O - Outstanding
- S - Satisfactory
- N - Needs Improvement
- U - Unsatisfactory
Academic Honors
Students in grades 3 - 8 earning a combination of A's and B's in all subjects including music, computer and gym will earn a place on the honor roll. Students earning a combination of A's and B's or all B's and only one C in any subject, including music, computer and gym will earn a place on the merit roll.
Midterm Reports
Progress reports are issued at the midpoint of the quarter in grades 2-8 and may be used as interim reports to inform parents.
